Amanico brings attention to a less-discussed category of vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre watches: the 'flat' references from the 1960s. This detailed review focuses on the Ref. 1901, highlighting its design characteristics, the Caliber 818 movement, and its minimalist dial. The post serves as an excellent resource for collectors interested in JLC's understated vintage offerings, particularly those in rare materials like white gold.
Your quote "Not as famous as the icons of the brand, but not less appealing" sounds strange however for beside the size I find this watch absolutely a gem of elegance and simplicity, magnificent, yes I agree the mouvement is a little lost in this space, but no where near as lost as some neurones in empty skulls:) As said, apart from the size which definitely doesn't attract my wrist it is a wonderfully balanced piece of horology. Thank you Nicolas. Cheers Francois
" Elegance, by Jaeger-Lecoultre ". Best! Nicolas
Of course relatively small vs our today's standards but so pure and elegant! "The time, what else ?..." so as to paraphrase the famous coffee ad...! Thank you Nicolas for this beautiful review of a very classy dresswatch. Best, Mike
It looks much bigger in the real, due to the volumes and the aperture of the dial. A jewel. Best, and thanks for your input, Mike. Nicolas
Do not misunderstand me, I have a "chicken's" wrist so I am used to (and I like) small size watches. With 36mm diameter, my former PP 2526 also was not having a large case. And specially for an elegant white gold dress watch with large aperture like this one, this size simply fits perfectly. Best, Mike
