Very happy to pick up my first JLC. A preowned LE Duometre Chronograph in White Gold. Here's a pic to share here. Love watching the chronograph in action withe the 1/6th spinning / jumping second. A spectacle to behold. I have some questions though... 1) The watch was originally dated 2011 in the wa

First off, congrats on this very nice JLC! I think I\'d checked out this very same watch before (looking at the serial number). On your questions, since it\'s unclear how the previous owner wore the watch, and it\'s a complicated piece as you already know, a few months at the spa now may prevent you from a much longer wait and a heftier repair bill down the road. It\'s also generally good practice to service these watches regularly. Regarding the blemish on the seconds hand, I can\'t tell from t
Now having just received it, suggesting to send it back to service for 5-6 months is a cruel suggestion. If I were, I would enjoy it first for a while and if the need arises then consider a full service. For the hand, that is probably routinely changed on service anyhow and will not cost a bomb. If you can live with it for now, enjoy the watch first. CC
Having bought quite a few watches second hand, my feeling is this. If you can live with the hand having blemishes and if the watch keeps good time - wear it now and "ride it hard". This watch is still in production, so JLC will always be able to restore it to spec condition at service. Just my $0.02
you got yourself a fantastic new timepiece!
but jumping 1/8 sec is very cool
have a look the the chronometry; unless it gains or lose too much, i'd rather use it right now than waiting for 5-6 to have it serviced. My only concern is humidity, so always pay attention the rain shower and excessive heat exposure. Enjoy it, it's really a stunning watch. Number 1 is also a plus ;-)
