You said it, an interesting diversity, and also with an undeniable charme plus the fascination of the World Time. Also I like the case back with the gold medaillon. Thx so much for sharing these great pics ! They remind me to take it out again to some fresh air more often.. Best, also for your week, my friend ! hs. Unobtrusive elegance Still an attractive face, IMHO. Nice Master Ctrl case back..
This was one of the Mater Control pieces I looked at so many times and even came quite close to getting. As you say, there is something intriguing and exotic about this watch. I came across the white dial several times but had my mind set on the black, so it never happened. As you know, I have the Master Compressor Memovox. I got that in early 2005 and my best friend got the Master Compressor Geographique. He has worn his ever since, while I don’t wear the Memovox too much any more. However they
all time watches from JLC is the Master Compressor Geographic in steel ON BRACELET! I love how the 2nd time zone switches at 12 from AM to PM and back (when you go backwards), and this is the ONLY model to do so. On the bracelet, it wears larger than it's 41.5mm diameter suggests. One day.... -Dean
and when I called back it was gone. It didn't have box or papers, so that one might have been just as well. However, I DO wish JLC would release this dial variant in the more recent Polaris - or, better yet, START SELLING AND UPDATED COMPRESSOR LINE AGAIN! Just the other day I had someone ask me if JLC was going to re-release it. I said, "I and a bunch of JLC nuts WISH they would!" One day soon. -Dean
Hi Nicolas, I really enjoyed your article. I’m a great fan of the Geographic and recently bought a 2008 model second hand. Apart from the elegant first generation models, the 2008 Geographic, in my opinion, is one of the most exciting designs of the Geographic models. It seems to be the only model that features a second day/night indicator located in the date sub-dial. I’m very happy with the watch and I hope one day to add a first generation model to my collection. Cheers! Avi
Indeed, this was the watch that more than any other that put JLC on my radar in the 1990s. It was an exciting era when you’d wait for the printed catalog every year, as they had so much innovation in those days.
