Ruckdee's post highlights a newly observed black dial variant of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Chronograph, prompting a community discussion about its design changes and availability. This article explores the subtle yet significant updates, including new hands, a tachymeter scale, and a black date wheel, comparing it to the previous reference.

I noticed the other day a black dial Master Chronograph with different hands, tachymeter instead of pulsometer, possibly different subdials from before, red "Automatique" inscription under the logo and red dots behind the hour markers. Best of all (for me) is the black date wheel as opposed to white from last year. The font used for the date appears to be different too.

I did not see this model in the SIHH 2012 report or anywhere else.

Here is a pic of the latest piece I am talking about, listed under 2012 creations...

I wonder if the two will be made available parallelly or will the older model be dropped. Personally, I feel the black date wheel is more subtle and harmonious. And I am always a fan of faceted dauphine hands. I don't know the name for the other kind of hands. Any clue on that will be greatly appreciated too smile

But as you mentionned it, yes, this is one of these novelties... If I remember it correctly, it is made for Aston Martin, and you are right about the changes: Dauphine Hands, red dots each five minutes, white on black date, as well as the red " Automatic " mention. Strange how this sum of details change the watch. Here are two pictures I kept under the sleeve, but hey... For your eyes only. I only have these two pics, by the way, as I was a bit in the rush, at the JLC Booth. The case back is the

If you want a nice one without date, have an eye on the Deep Sea Vintage Chrono... Best, Nicolas

but i can t take my eyes off it,I generally dislike dates at 4 or 5 unless its well done(PSM Thalassa for example). The vintage chrono is very nice but maybe this would be even more my taste than the DSVCif it didnt have the date. Mo

But, boy, is this dial still nice. I love the details. I have looked at this thread now multiple times. I am just hooked. I say to myself use my ALS dato to fix the date issue but use this baby for my black and red fix. Thanks Nicolas for the pix. Joe

Thank you for the exclusive view of this piece. This version speaks more to me than the original. Looking forward to more surprises later in the year. Thank you. Ruckdee
