Amanico presents his first impressions of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Ultra Thin Small Second Blue, a standout novelty from SIHH 2017. He compares it to the previous year's champagne dial version, emphasizing the impact of the blue dial and the absence of a date window on its aesthetic appeal.

Warning, this one may well conquest your heart.

Let's start by a side by side picture, featuring the MGUT Date, Champagne dial, unveiled last year, and the MGUT Small Second Blue, unveiled at the SIHH this year.

I fell in love with the " Champagne ", whose dial seduced me a lot. But the big issue is... The date, which, even if it is located at 6 o clock, ruins the dial, in my opinion, at least.

This year, Jaeger Lecoultre re thinks the MGUT with a blue dial, a small second, and ... No date!

The outcome is quite stunning, according to my own tastes.

I am curious to see how a Champagne dial would work, here.

A live picture I could take at the SIHH.

The case is the same: 40 mm big, A tad thicker for the " Blue ": 7, 58 mm while the " Champagne " is 7, 45 mm high.

The movement of the Blue is automatic, the Cal 896, while the Champagne houses the Cal 899, both beating at 28, 800 alternances per hour.

I like this watch a lot: for its elegant case, and its captivating dial. The absence of a date is a big plus for me.

And, as often, this blue dial is much nicer in the real than on pictures.

Looking forward to reading your comments and thoughts,

Best.

Nicolas

That's my questioning but I would like to try it before having a final opinion. May be 1 or 2mm less would be perfect. Need to see it in the flesh

Best wishes Alkiro

Funny and interesting to read that 40 mm is too large.

I agree that 38 mm would be the perfect size. 39 mm, too.

I looked at the JLC ultra thin....

several times on their website this past months , I could not decide which one I like the most. All of them are so alluring. Blue dial rocks. Best Nicolas Edward
