Nicolas, known as amanico on WatchProSite, offers a captivating visual journey through the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox lineage. This article showcases a curated selection of vintage and modern Memovox references, featuring high-resolution images provided directly by the manufacture. Nicolas's discerning eye highlights unique details and historical context, making this an essential read for enthusiasts keen on understanding the evolution of this iconic alarm watch.

The manufacture sent me some hi resolution pictures of some of their vintage and modern Memovox. I thought it would be a pleasure to share them with you.

Ref 3150:

Ref 3161 Memovox Parking from 1958 but here I have a doubt about the case...

Unknown to me reference of this Lecoultre Memovox World Time, from the mid 60's.

Deep Sea Alarm Ref E 857, with a funny detail you might spot quite easily:

Polaris from 1968:

Ref E 877, from late 60's early 70's. With a curious blue alarm disc I only saw on that watch:

And, to end in beauty, two Tributes which are dear to my and most probably our heart,

The Tribute To Polaris 1968, released in 2008:

And the Tribute To Deep Sea Alarm, in 2011:

Of course, this is just a small selection. But I thought it would make a superb selection for a good Sunday.

Enjoy,

Nicolas

About the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Mariner Memovox Ref. E877

The Master Mariner Memovox reference E877 is a notable example of Jaeger-LeCoultre's alarm watch production from the late 1960s and early 1970s. This particular reference is distinguished by its robust case design and the integration of the Memovox alarm complication within the Master Mariner line, which was known for its more resilient construction. It represents a period when the brand was exploring more contemporary case shapes while maintaining its horological traditions.

This reference typically features a stainless steel case, often with a cushion or tonneau profile, measuring approximately 39mm in diameter. It houses an automatic winding movement, specifically the Caliber 916, which provides both timekeeping and the distinctive mechanical alarm function. The crystal is commonly acrylic, contributing to its period-correct aesthetic. The movement offers a power reserve suitable for daily wear.

For collectors, the E877 is appealing due to its distinctive aesthetic and the reliable Caliber 916. It offers a blend of practical complication and mid-century design, making it a sought-after piece for those interested in vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre alarm watches. Its variations in dial finish and case execution provide further collecting interest within the broader Memovox family.

Thanks for the pictures of an interesting sample of Memovoxes. Do you know why the "7" is absent on the bezel of the e 857?

The gold to be dressy, the stainless steel to be sporty, the super bubbly case to be chic! Damn, those are freaking sexy ass pics, pardon my French. I am saving off some pictures are we speak!!! Wow!

Here is my white one, in its first version with a dial which just came one year, the first year ( 1959 ). In its black dial configuration, quite charming, isn't it?
