Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Blue Enamel Review

You certainly remember this Reverso " Email Bleu " which was unveiled just after the Reverso Event, in Paris, last June.



It is time to have a deeper look on this watch, which is truly amazing.

When JLC announced their new Reverso enamel, at the SIHH, at the very beginning of this year, everybody was eagerly waiting for some pictures.

The association of a rose gold case and a white silky enamel dial enchanted many of us, while some others were waiting for something else, a white metal case with a white and / or blue dial.

The White Gold blue enamel dial goes deeper in the elegance, in my opinion.

While everybody thought that Jaeger-Lecoultre would offer a white metal iteration with a white enamel dial and some blue accents, the Grande Maison opted for another solution, even if I would have really happy with a simple white enamel dial, to say all.

Not only with have a splendid blue enamel grand feu dial, but also, if it was not enough, it is guilloché.

Blue and white are colors which go very well together, a combination which is complementary, as the blue dial " breaks " the coldness of the white case.

Therefore, Blue is an envouting color. You will loose youself contemplating at it.

It will remind you that a watch is not made to read the time, but to admire it.

The guilloché in the cherry on the cake...

Move the watch, you will see the light playing on the dial, stroking it... It is a spectacular and intimate show, reserved to its owner only.





We find here these nice stylized silver numbers, which we can see on the finest Reversos, like the Platinum Nr 2, or the Sun Moon platinum.

One small detail I regret is the wording... I would have much preferred " Reverso " instead of the JL Logo + the Jaeger-LeCoultre Signature + the name ' Reverso ".

As often, less is better, and in this case, it would have let more place to the magnificient blue guilloché enamel dial.



The case shares the same dimensions than its Rose Gold sister, which is basically the same than the Grande Reverso 976, but slightly thicker ( 10, 24 mm for the Enamel, 9, 70 mm for the 976 ), which is harldy noticeable.

We're far from the very slim case of the Tribute to 1931, but it is still elegant and " à propos ".





The case back is solid, and this is a good thing, as there is no particular interest to see the Cal 822, which is nice, but way too small for such a big case.

But this will allow you to engrave your Reverso, which will give it an even more exclusive look and appeal.

Two issues, though:

- The " Blue enamel " is limited to 50 pieces, and I was told that they have all found their future owners...

- Their future owners will have to wait till April 2012.

Blue is Royan, Blue is mad. If we refer to the last auctions, people went crazy for the Vintage Blue Reversos.

The funny thing is that JLC released the Blue Enamel a few months before these crazy auctions.

A future classic?
