ED209 provides an exciting recap of the Jaeger-LeCoultre SIHH 2012 collection presentation at the JLC Beverly Hills Boutique, offering WatchProSite readers a close-up look at the new novelties. This report highlights key pieces like the Master Reserve de Marche, Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon, and the impressive Duometre Spherotourbillon, complete with initial impressions and a video from the event.

More exciting news for Jaeger LeCoultre fans here in the Southern California area!  A few weeks ago the PuristSPro.com Team joined the JLC Beverly Hills Boutique for the presentation of the Reverso 1931 Tribute to Mad Men Please click here

And just shortly after that we head back to the boutique for a close up look of the new JLC novelties from SIHH 2012.   We've had some great pictures and reports already posted by Nicholas but this is the first time the new collection arrived in our area and we had plenty of time to handle each piece.

But before we get into the specifics of the new watches, the friendly folks at the JLC BH Boutique welcomes the guests and presents several pieces including the new rose gold Master Reserve de Marche, rose gold Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater, Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon,  Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire, and the stunning Duometre Spherotourbillon.

Here's a video with the JLC Boutique staff presenting the new SIHH 2012 collection:

I have closeup shots of the watches and will be preparing reports on each one shortly.  But it's interesting to know the wide range of watches JLC has presented in the collection.  In the Master Control collection, JLC is using their ultra thin case and the use of reasonable sized cases in 39mm.  This includes the Master Control, the Master Reserve de Marche, and the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon which is made in a slightly larger case at 40mm and only 11.3 mm thin.  On the other side of the size spectrum, JLC debuted the Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater in Rose Gold.  This was a large watch at 44mm in diameter and 15.6mm thick, but still manageable on smaller wrists.  Also presented was a Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire at 40.5mm and 13mm thick.

And last but not least one of my favorites of the new collection is the Duometre Spherotourbillon.  I'm familiar with the JLC Gyrotourbillon I and the Reverso Gyrotourbillon II
, and now have handled the new Spherotourbillon.  This is a two axis tourbillon with different rotational speeds, at 15 seconds in the first axis and 30 seconds in the second axis.  The Spherotourbillon is made of 105 parts and weighing in at a mere .518 grams with a carriage made in titanium beating at 21600 vph.  I have some macro videos of the Spherotoubillon that I will posting in a follow up report.

One surprise for me was seeing a prototype of the Deep Sea Chronograph.  I've seen pics of the SIHH 2012 Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph with the two register subdials, but not this one.  I'll have to compare the two side by side but I think this is going to be the next watch I'm adding to my collection.  More pics on this prototype coming up.

Thanks again to the wonderful JLC Boutique staff for the viewing of the SIHH 2012 collection.  I'll post more pics and videos on each piece soon.

Regards,
ED-209

I see a lot of happy faces handling the new collection. Some very nice offerings, as usual, from JLC.
