Amanico's post offers a fascinating look into vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre advertising, prompting a community discussion on the brand's enduring appeal. By sharing historical ads, Amanico invites readers to reflect on JLC's marketing evolution and the personal reasons collectors choose the brand. This thread provides valuable insight into the emotional and historical connections collectors have with Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Here are a few ads I found on the net, which made me smile...

- " You need a watch "?

This ad was not dedicated to the Reverso, as we saw it for other watches, such as the Powermatic, for example.

Add, " real " to the slogan, and we are not far from what we see, nowadays.

- " This watch is the smallest in the world ".

That is undisputably true, and superbly illustrated.

Whle the Cal 101 is still used, the map of the world makes me think about the new Duometre UTT.

Obsession? Maybe.

Poetry? Certainly!

- " All, here, sings the Beauty. "

A link with or to Diane Kruger?

wink

- " A Jaeger-Lecoultre watch speaks about Time, Us, and more so, about your character ":

This last one gave me a lot to think, I must confess.

Indeed, why do we buy a Jaeger-Lecoultre?

I have my small idea, but I let you elaborate your arguments...

Best,

Nicolas

Always behind, .... and sometimes above :) Jacques-David Lecoultre was a member of the board of Patek Philippe & Co in the early 20th century. Jaeger-Lecoultre bought Vacheron Constantin in 1938. And who was the third big one? not this micro-entreprise with few employees during so many decades? Best,

I bought it because it is about watches without much of the b...s... that is far too often a major part of the watch business. I could have bought GO again for the same reason and would almost have done it. Reduction to the core of things, i.e. the necessary, is a theme I come back to again and again. At least some of the Reversos and Masters play this tune to perfection. But do you know why I finally chose a Memovox over a pre-2012 Panomatic-Lunar? That was you. Because my affection for the bra
