KIH's report from the Swatch Group Event in Ginza offers a fascinating glimpse into Jaquet Droz's exquisite timepieces, presented during a reception commemorating Swiss-Japan diplomatic relations. His detailed photographs highlight the brand's artistic mastery, particularly in gem-setting and rare stone dials, providing a valuable overview for enthusiasts of high-end decorative watchmaking.

Commemorating 150th Anniversary of official diplomatic relationship between Swiss and Japan, Swatch Group also held a reception (in relation to "Precious Watch Collection") at the top floor of its Nicolas Hayek Center in Ginza.

I will post other brands (Glashutte Original, Omega) also.

Let's start with the reception and Jaquet Droz:

Tonight's Swiss wines!

Now, to the booth of J*D

Grande Seconde Tourbillon Aventurine

MOP dial and 90 diamonds.

260 diamonds on the case, too!!
39mm case size, LE of 28.

Here is the cleaner photo of the tourbillon.  Notice the head of the screw - not easy to make (Electrical Discharge Machining).

Next up is yet another rare/ beautiful stone dial pair - Petite Heure Minute and Grande Seconde

Stunning reflection depending on the angle.

Now this is interesting smile
Ball point pen of J*D - White version.

Top is the white enamel (!) with stars.

Black version

Black onyx with stars.

Here is the detailed encounter with this one for the first time.  Petite Heure Minute Relief Seasons.

Look at this 3D relief dial....  The branch is also 3D...

272 diamonds...

41mm, LE of 88

Grande Seconde Enamel dial

41mm and 43mm.

Two step dial, enamel.  Beautifully done.

Back side is also well made.

Notice the Cote de Geneve - Sun Burst type, and the center is the balance wheel center.

A bit thick rotor, thus a bit thick case, but for the better winding performance.

Notice that the Logo is laser printed.

The top floor of the building atmosphere.....

Other guys' watches... smile

Hope you enjoyed the exhibit as I did.  Great stuff.

Thank you, Mr. Hayashi, Manager of Jaquet Droz boutique.

Best,
Ken

Very nice...

...is the diamond bezel on the Petite Heure Minute Relief Seasons under the glass? Impressive pieces, thanks for the report Ken and ....I thought the architectural detail in the room was interesting too.

Good eyes :-)

.. yes, Ping, the diamond bezel is under that glass. All the watches are wrapped with plastic, so it may not be too clear. For ladies, it may be a tad big, so the target is a bit no clear. That said, marvelous artistic piece for sure. I would be more interested in Grande Seconde Tourbillon Mens version :-) Ken
