As first reported by one of our fellow purists, David , apart from the previous versions of rose gold white enamel reverso (? limited edition of 100 or 200) and the white gold blue enamel reverso (limited edition of 50), there is now a red enamel one (limited edition of 8).
Just dropped by the JLC boutique inside Harbour City of Hong Kong to have a look of this beauty in this Sunday afternoon.
According to JLC boutique staff, this reference was launched in 2017, in a very low profile (actually haven't heard of it before David posted its picture 2 weeks ago).
It has hand winding caliber and grand reverso white gold case, same to the blue enamel one.
But as you can see in the picture, the breguet numerals, JLC/ reverso wording and the railway are either painted white lacquer or burnt white enamel, instead of the silvery metal raising from the base metal of dial as in blue enamel.
The red enamel is also completely opaque, instead of the semi transparent blue enamel showing the underlying guilloche pattern.
What do you think about this reference?

Best, Henry

I find it very attractive, indeed, but I prefer the purity of the Red ( Steel ). [nt]

I do not like the numerals on this watch. I’m also surprised that you can still find one.

My vote goes for the Rouge in steel like amanico.

This highly crafted model is for true connoisseurs

joenghenry Contrary to the common view, this very limited edition is superlative for its arts and craft. Real enamel artistry and not cheap applique. It has taken skill and patience to perfect exquisitely and should be respected. The colour is bold with deep cultural meaning for the region as well as pretty. The two colours of passion, blood soaked earth, patriotism, and purity. Its rarity can only be revered by the few and if you are lucky to be in a position to join those few.....grasp the opp

If you want a very exclusive timepiece Henry, go for it. Otherwise, the Reverso Red in steel is the other seducing option

Best wishes Alkiro

Dear All, thanks for your feedback.

The red enamel dial is indeed nice. But the price is really steep, even more expensive than the auction result of the vintage red enamel reverso of 1930s. With the same (actually less) amount funding, I would prefer the Lange One new moonphase. Though I agree that this time piece being limited to 8 is definitely much more exquisite. Best, Henry
