In this insightful post, aviya shares his long-anticipated acquisition of the A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Annual Calendar in pink gold, reference 238.032. He delves into the nuances that make this timepiece particularly compelling in person, highlighting its unique appeal within the esteemed 1815 collection. His reflections offer a valuable perspective on a watch that often defies photographic representation.

The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Annual Calendar reference 238.032, introduced in 2017, integrates an annual calendar complication into the classic 1815 design language. This model stands out within the 1815 collection by offering a more complex horological function while maintaining the collection's characteristic aesthetic of traditional Saxon watchmaking, inspired by Ferdinand Adolph Lange's birth year. It presents a balanced dial layout that clearly displays the date, day of the week, month, and moon phase, requiring only one manual correction per year at the end of February.
The watch features a 39.5mm rose gold case, housing the automatic manufacture caliber L922.1. This movement provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The dial is silver, complemented by blued steel hands and Arabic numerals. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the watch is water-resistant to 30 meters. The transparent case back, also made of sapphire crystal, allows for observation of the meticulously finished movement.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking a sophisticated calendar complication within a traditionally styled timepiece. It represents a more accessible entry into Lange's complicated watches compared to perpetual calendars, offering significant horological interest. The 1815 Annual Calendar is presented on a hand-stitched leather strap, aligning with the brand's commitment to classic watchmaking traditions and material quality.
very nice. congrats.
36 mm YG 1815 was my first Lange too. What a gateway drug to the rest of the 1815 line-up!!
The 1815 line is just pure class. Enjoy your new toy in the best of health ! Cheers Robin
I am honored to have even been mentioned in the acquisition of such a piece. The ref stands on its own as a top Lange , albeit not commonly seen (which is where my posts likely come in😂). I love the push to advance for the calendar components as I only wear mine on weekends here and there. In addition, I love the moon phase disc, it’s so pretty. Congrats on such a wonderful addition, I love the warmth and luxurious feel the rose gold imparts. Enjoy your new piece , Kevin
Congratulations, it looks great on your wrist!
One of my favorite Langes; embodies a lot of what makes the company great. Thanks for sharing and wear it in good health.
