Last night my wife and I attended A. Lange & Sohne's grand opening event for their new Madison Ave boutique. The boutique as you will see was done incredibly well. Below are some photos of how the room looks when you walk in upon arrival. On a side note, I actually had to wait an hour so to take many of these pictures. It was so crowded when we walked in that I could barely move!

Some random pictures of the decor.........................

There is a second floor as well and as we made our way up we were greeted by one of Lange's watchmakers. (Do you notice the watch at the bottom of this photo?)

As we got into the night a little bit Mr. Schmid took a few minutes to welcome all of us. He flew in specially for this event. It was great catching up with so many people that I haven't seen in a while............

Now to the watches..............the Richard Lange PLM in rose gold, I don't think that there is more of a stunning time only watch on the market today.

Various Richard Lange models..........................

Rose Gold Richard Lange.............

The Datograph Perpetual.................

Rose gold Double Split..............

The is one of the new pieces. Its the Richard Lange Tourbillon PLM now in white gold.......................

The other new piece which I thought looked great in person with the black dial, the Langematik Perpetual in white gold.....................

Here it is in platinum, I think the new black dial works on this model better.....................

One of my favorite Lange's ever made, the platinum Lange 1 moonphase..........................

Here's a Daymatic in platinum................

Another one of my favorites the Lange 1 Timezone in platinum..............................

White gold 1815 Chrono............................

Two new Walter Lange editions......................

The Handwerkskunst's........................................(They are gorgeous in person)

And last but not least a platinum PLM, 1815 Tourbillon, and the Tourbograph.

I could have went on and on with watch pictures, they had pretty much every model in the catalog at the boutique last night............So lets get to a few wrist shots............................

Alkis posing with his favorite Lange, the Datograph............................

All in all, this ended up being a very special week for me. Not only did we have a great time at the event last night but I also got a new watch on Monday!

I hope you enjoyed the report. If you live in the NYC area or are visiting, the new Lange boutique on Madison avenue is a must see!

Tony

BTW, I forgot to add a photo of this beauty. Too me, it was the star the of show!

About the A. Lange and Söhne Lange 1 Ref. 1815Tourbillon

The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Tourbillon, reference 730.078F, is a distinguished model within the 1815 collection, known for its focus on traditional watchmaking and classical aesthetics. This particular reference stands out for its combination of a tourbillon complication with a black enamel dial, a rare and highly regarded feature that enhances its visual depth and exclusivity. It represents a refined expression of high horology, emphasizing technical sophistication within a restrained design. The hacking seconds mechanism integrated into the tourbillon further underscores its precision engineering.

The watch is presented in a platinum case measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 11.3mm in thickness, offering a substantial yet wearable presence. It is equipped with the manual-wind caliber L102.1, which provides a power reserve of 72 hours. The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, allowing appreciation of its intricate finishing and the tourbillon in operation. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, and the watch offers a water resistance of 30 meters.

This reference appeals to collectors who value traditional German watchmaking and the technical artistry of a tourbillon, especially when paired with a handcrafted enamel dial. The black enamel dial variant is particularly sought after for its depth and luster, which are achieved through a meticulous firing process. It occupies a significant position within the 1815 series as a high-complication piece that maintains the collection's characteristic legibility and classical proportions.

Enjoyed this report Tony

And I must say I'm still fond of the RL and the Langematik Perpetual. I'm happy the latter appears in WG as I don't really like Pt (heavy and thus uncomfortable to me). Thanks a lot. Cheers, Mark

I helped a friend chase down..................

A Richard Lange in RG this week I can't wait to meet up with him and see it in person aside from the Richard Lange PLM it's probably the nicest time only watch. The Langematik Perpetual on the other hand is a watch that I'd love to own someday but in my mind there were always a number of other Lange models I'd have to get beforehand. Well that thought has changed with this new metal / dial combination. My picture from that night doesn't do this watch justice, it is stunning in WG with the black

Your going to love the new boutique................

BTW, all of those photos were taken by my Blackberry Q10 (not bad right) .............I know, I know, why don't you have an iphone, I hear that all the time. I'm still a sucker for that keyboard which makes me quite the minority! I'm glad you enjoyed the report. Tony
