KIH shares an exclusive first look at what is believed to be the world's first delivered A. Lange & Söhne Tourbograph Perpetual 'Pour le Mérite'. This post offers a rare glimpse into the unboxing experience of a highly anticipated and complex timepiece, highlighting the meticulous packaging and the watch's initial reception among collectors.
... this one has been delivered so far?
Photo credit belongs to a good friend mine who is also an avid Lange fan but this one goes to another lucky collector. I was unfortunately not there to feel or see it myself, but according to him, the actual one was far better and solemn than the mock-up we have all seen or handled.
Congrats, new owner, for the year-end present for yourself!
The first box (on top is the outer cover)

And the smaller second box which is...

Full of these....?

Wow, very nice wooden winder box!

The instruction manual is without any photo and feels "solemn".

And, this time, there is a detailed instruction manual for the winder box as well.

PS: This was shipped via a chartered flight from Dresden.... the rumor says
VERY NICE!
Have a great year end and a happy new year!
Best,
Ken

Key Points from the Discussion
- The clean dial of the Tourbograph Perpetual is a significant achievement, and its execution, combining perpetual calendar and tourbillon, is highly praised.
- The watch's packaging, particularly the luxurious wooden winder box, is a standout feature, leading some to suggest Lange should adopt similar high-quality packaging for all its watches.
- There is speculation and confirmation among forum members that this indeed could be one of the very first deliveries of the Tourbograph Perpetual worldwide, possibly rushed for a VIP client.
- The instruction manual's solemn, photo-less design adds to the watch's mystique, and a separate manual is provided for the winder box.
- The method of delivery, rumored to be via a chartered flight from Dresden, underscores the watch's exclusivity and value.
- A question arises regarding whether the wooden box is solely a winder or also the primary watch box for the Lange 1 Tourbillon.
