Dan003 shares the exhilarating experience of acquiring his 'grail' watch, the A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk in white gold. After years of admiration from afar, a chance encounter with the striking timepiece solidified his decision. This personal account highlights the profound impact of seeing a watch in person and the unique blend of substantial presence and refined craftsmanship that defines the Zeitwerk.
I have never thought I would own a Zeitwerk.
For many years, I could only admire this timepiece from books, magazines, and online websites. In fact, I have never even seen it in the ‘flesh’; not until this year.
In the
first half of 2017, I saw the Zeitwerk striking time twice while
window-shopping. Each time, the watch impressed upon me deeply. I contemplated
for a long time, and on 30 June, placed an order for the WG Zeitwerk. (Thanks
Mr Alkiro for helping me to decide on the choice of the metal..) After a month
of waiting, I received the ‘grail’ today from a local AD. I must say, the more
I look at the timepiece, the more it amazes in terms of looks and build, what a
rush... It is substantial and refined at the same time..
Below are some of my amateur photos.

Excellent choice Bravo! Sincerely D
