Mike H introduces his latest acquisition, a Laurent Ferrier Galet Square with a deep blue dial, sharing his journey of discovering and falling for the independent brand. Despite limitations with his camera, his initial iPhone photos beautifully capture the watch's cushion case, satin-brushed dial, and the breathtaking finishing of the micro-rotor caliber FBN 229.01, promising a detailed review once his full camera is accessible.

Talking about coming out, this is maybe not what you could have thought, I'm talking about my latest baby freshly arrived... (maybe you remember my recent teaser www.watchprosite.com )
I wanted to take the opportunity of this special thread to present it to you...
I feel sorry I could not take the pictures I wanted because my real camera has to stay in the bag for a while as some of you probably know... Let's hope I shall be able to carry it and use it soon again...
In the meantime and to come back to pleasant things, I discovered only relatively recently Laurent Ferrier. Of course I knew the brand before but for unknown reasons I did not really pay the attention it deserves until a good friend of mine acquires one and opens my eyes. That was few monthes ago only and since then it grew in me, it was like a fatal attraction !
The next question then was to decide which one to get, and I must admit it took me quite some time to decide since they are all so nice.
I finally selected 2 only in my shortlist with the Galet micro-rotor in either Classic or Square shape. But either or, it had to be with the classy satin-brushed finish dial, with these wonderful recognizible thin applied gold hour markers and "assegai shaped" hands.
I finally pulled the trigger on the little bit less conventional case and took the plunge for the Galet Square with beautiful deep blue dial.
The cushion case shape is both modern and classic and has a strong personality. Its shape enables the watch to sit ideally and comfortably on the wrist.
As for the movement, the finishing of the micro-rotor caliber FBN 229.01 is simply breathtaking ; the harmonious construction is a delight for the eyes and the technical performance is top notch.
Without further ado hereafter few pics of the beauty :

Color of the dial varies a lot between really dark blue and a wonderful lighter hue depending on the light...

Love the hands ! They are so elegant ! The blue is also very nice. How does it wear on the wrist with the square case? Cheers, Gordon

LF is too under appreciated - the simple dials is perfectly suited for most occasions, but the back, it doesn't really matter which movement is in it - they all look wonderfully finished and are a sight to behold! The blue dial on this one is really nice!

I love the shape case and lugs and how it hugs your wrist even at 41mm. I am partial to the same watch but with a salmon dial as it matches the skin tone well!

This blue dial is soooo cooooolllll and beautiful. And I don\'t talk about the movement with its wonderful micro rotor. You sly little fox about this one ;-) I hope I would be able to see it in the metal soon. Enjoy and wear it in the best of your health my friend. Best wishes Alkiro
