A much overdue post as I recently relocated, but here are some pictures of a mini gtg of 8 London purists last month than included over 32 pieces (yes, at some point I lost count
). Enjoy!
As always, it was a pleasant evening with some unique pieces and above all excellent company - something that makes this community such a great place. The pics were taken by a number of those in attendance as I am what some may call hopeless when it comes to pictures.
I personally came red-handed:
and was pleased to see some amazing timepieces. In fact, with all the great timepieces on show, we seem to have totally forgotten to take pictures of the food... which by the way was excellent!
So first off, some of the attendants:

on the left:

Someone is missing, the picture-taker of the above photos and our wrist-shot model for the evening:
And now onto the topic of discussion, the timepieces:
A back shot of a now famous pieces (I understand the first two to hit the English shores):
If you guessed Grönefeld One Hertz, you were spot on, here is a double wrist-shot:
I really liked the Titanium-steel combination, a very cool piece:
Another indy favourite of mine, the Romain Gauthier HMS Presige in Platinum. A true pleasure to look at, and to top it off, its numbered "No. 1"!
Wish I had a taken a back-shot/movement-shot of this as the frosted finishing of the movement is absolutely exquisite with some fantastic inward angles (oh well, maybe next time!).
Another pair of very distinct indys, a SPM-Spirit Pioneer (a purist's intended 21st birthday gift for his son so that he may appreciate the indy world) and an Observatoire:

The Obesrvatoire's stunning white/creamy guilloche dial was very difficult to capture:
Another special piece, the UN Sonata. When it first came out, I didn't know what to think of it, but the more I see it, the more it grows on me, especially those hands:

Another favourite of mine, a TT Polaris '68:

The original was also in attendance, but alas, I cannot seem to find a picture of it.
Another iconic piece, the World Time 5110P:
And an old classic, a 1970s day-date:
Of course, no London gtg is complete without a vintage sub, this time a 1960s 4Line meters first (a 5512 if I remember correctly):
This is a very interesting piece, a Bayer digital watch from the 1970s or what I like to call a Star-trek watch. Truly avant-garde and a very cool watch:
And for the final wrist-shot a truly uber-cool piece, the RO Skeleton Perpetual:
Some group shots:

And finally, setting the pieces:
For the table shot:
And yes, we got the Tattoo King's seal of approval

Thanks to Antony for choosing the location, and to Sid, Mo, Eitan, Greg, Mat, and Dave for a wonderful evening!
Hope you enjoyed this short report!
HAGWE!
Best,
Walid
