Longines has a track record of well done vintage re-issues and this Ultra-Chron might be their best effort yet.
Very faithfull to the 1967 model with only a slightly bigger case (37mm vs 35mm).
The watch also comes in a 40mm version but I felt that the spirit of the original model is best served with the 37 mm case.

Longines offers the watch with either a bracelet or a leather strap : for me this is a watch that works best with a strap ...although I immediately changed the original black strap to something more colorful !

The overall dimensions are very pleasing with a height of just under 11mm.

Yes,there is a historical correct date window and I find it well executed !

Very nice mix of polished and brushed case parts.

The movement is one of the highlights : hi-beat with 36000 Hz ,silicon escapement, exclusively produced by ETA for Longines and chronometer certified.

The chronometer certification is done by TIMELAB with extensive tests over 15 days with the movement encased into the watch : the result is an almost non-existing daily deviation !!

And finally a wrist shot indicating that the watch wears a bit larger than the 37mm would suggest.

Thanks for looking,
Gerard

Maybe Longines should give a helping hand to big sister Omega ☺️😉

As for the caseback I agree with you. Probably Longines wanted to stay close to the original model.

This is a lovely Longines watch. Longines are not letting up any time soon. Kudos!

It’s a watch I am much intrigued by and always wanted an Ultrachron (and this possibly works better for me than the reissued diver). Absolutely need to see it live 🤞🏻
