Dr. Tabby, known as Spangles on WatchProSite, initiates a compelling discussion on the artistic merit of watches, drawing parallels between horological design and museum-quality sculptures. This article explores how collectors perceive their timepieces as art, focusing on both the aesthetic front and the intricate mechanical back of various watches. Dr. Tabby's original post invites the community to share which watches they consider true works of art, whether already owned or aspirational.

Could be one in your collection or one you would like to add! I was thinking of this while in a museum with my PRX admiring beautiful scupltures!

Some like the front, but the back can be art, too!

I will try for the retrograde seconds someday, but the tourbillon is beautiful for sure, don't you agree?

I don't recognize the floor, but the walls/ceiling remind me of the MET. Hmm... Art... These come to mind... But any beautifully done watch really can qualify as art... Sejima designed "invisible" watch for Bulgari... An "invisible" yacht concept not designed by Sejima... A mirrored concert hall in Saudi Arabia. Designed by Gioforma Architects, Milano, Italy A polished reflective "invisible" train designed by Sejima.... Tadao Ando Special Edition Bulgari watch which I really like. Tadao Ando Arc

Take your PRX, I really like it and see it as a handsome timepiece. Very practical, rugged, and stylish. However I might be a little biased towards mechanical non-homage watches mind you (the former will have a few exceptions of course!).

I don't think of Montblanc for guilloché, but this is very nice looking!

The large art deco sun with "rays" guilloché pattern is perfect!
