The dog in the background is the new β€˜everyday carry’ - at least for the crossing of the road to the park. So I guess it might feature more often.

While generally not a fan of black cased watches, this one is an exception for me - really like how it turned out and makes for a fun casual piece.

Wishing you all a great start to the week πŸ‘‹πŸ»

About the Ming Monolith Ref. 37.07

Ming, established in 2017 by a collective of enthusiasts led by Ming Thein, quickly carved a niche in contemporary independent watchmaking. The brand's philosophy centers on distinctive design, quality craftsmanship, and a direct-to-consumer model. The 37.07 Monolith is a significant entry in their 37-series, a line characterized by its elegant 38mm case, signature flared lugs, and innovative dial constructions. This model continues Ming's tradition of pushing aesthetic boundaries while maintaining a cohesive brand identity, building upon the success of earlier references and solidifying its position as a forward-thinking horological entity.

The 37.07 Monolith showcases Ming's commitment to material innovation and intricate dial work. Its 38mm case is crafted from Grade 5 titanium, treated with a black DLC coating, resulting in a lightweight yet robust structure with a stealthy, monochromatic appearance. The dial is a multi-layered sapphire construction, featuring a central "honeycomb" or "mosaic" pattern meticulously laser-etched to create a captivating sense of depth and texture. This intricate detail, combined with the minimalist white hour markers and skeletonized, lumed hands, ensures both legibility and a unique visual signature. Powering the watch is a hand-wound Sellita SW210-1 movement, chosen for its reliability and slim profile, contributing to the watch's elegant wearability.

Ming watches, particularly limited editions like the 37.07 Monolith, have garnered a strong following among collectors and enthusiasts. The brand's strategy of producing watches in controlled quantities, often selling out within minutes of release, contributes to their desirability and secondary market performance. The 37.07 Monolith, with its distinctive aesthetic and technical execution, represents a highly sought-after piece within Ming's portfolio. It appeals to those who appreciate modern design, independent watchmaking, and a unique blend of artistry and engineering, cementing Ming's reputation as a significant player in the contemporary watch landscape.

Very nice pairing with the blue strapπŸ‘ŒπŸ½

Is that a suede or alcantara strap? Did you get it from Delugs (with curved ends)?

The strap is alcantara if I recall correctly…

Was the OEM fitment on the Ming 17.03 Ultra Blue and comes from Jean Rousseau Paris πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ»
