Love this one.  Nico made me think of it, I think the blue on the purists pops more ! Also could have found better angle or lighting, but out to dinner!

About the Montblanc Villeret Vintage Chronograph Ref. 107314

Montblanc's foray into serious haute horlogerie gained momentum in the 2000s following strategic acquisitions of Swiss manufactures, including Minerva in 2006. The Collection Villeret represents the brand's commitment to traditional watchmaking, drawing inspiration from classical chronograph designs of the early-to-mid 20th century. This vintage-inspired chronograph reflects Montblanc's effort to establish legitimacy within the mechanical watchmaking community, moving beyond its heritage as a writing instrument manufacturer.

The watch displays traditional chronograph architecture with a bi-compax layout featuring subsidiary seconds at 9 o'clock and 30-minute totalizer at 3 o'clock. The white enamel-style dial bears Arabic numerals and a railway minute track, design elements that directly reference pre-war chronographs. The case appears to be stainless steel with polished surfaces, while the hands feature the classical leaf-style chronograph configuration with red accents on the central chronograph hands. The overall aesthetic prioritizes legibility and classical proportions over contemporary complications.

Within Montblanc's contemporary lineup, the Villeret collection occupies a more accessible price point compared to the manufacture Minerva-powered Heritage pieces. The vintage styling appeals to collectors seeking classical chronograph design without the premium associated with in-house movements or limited production runs. Market reception has been generally positive among enthusiasts who appreciate the brand's commitment to traditional design languages, though the collection faces competition from established Swiss chronograph specialists in this segment.
