Ruckdee's comprehensive photo essay from the Omega Basel 2009 Novelties Preview in Bangkok offers a vivid glimpse into the brand's new releases from that year. His detailed coverage, including hands-on impressions of key models like the Speedmaster Professional Apollo 11 "40th Anniversary" Limited Edition and the Seamaster Ploprof, provides invaluable historical context for collectors interested in Omega's product development and regional launch events.

I had the opportunity to play with the watch shortly before the event but I did not care to check the lume. Then, after the dinner, I asked to try the watch again. This time it came right off the showcase with all the spotlights. The blue lume was fully charged and obvious when my hand partially covered the watch. I went speechless for one moment. Wow! Here's the Ploprof on my skinny 6.5" Asian wrist... In case you are wondering where the shirt sleeve has gone, these three pics were not taken on
To be honest, the only one which makes me hesitant is the plo prof... The size may really be a problem, but I can't say more before trying the watch ,and seeing it in the flesh. The other novelties are a deception, to me. The Speeds are so so, not to say worst, and I don't even speak of the other novelties... But I really know noting about Omega, so my opinion is worth nothing... Best, Nicolas This message has been edited by amanico on 2009-06-24 13:57:25

I, like you, am very interested in the Ploprof and I think it looks fine on you - large maybe, but that is the trend these days isn't it. Interested to see the new style Speedmasters, that's the first time I have seen that model and the same goes for the AT GMT Chrono. Thanks for posting David ps: There is nothing "pale" about your Speedmaster - a great, timeless classic.
Hi Ruckdee Thanks for the informative post and the additional 1200m photos!! I also had a chance to play with the bracelet.... will be posing the photo essay this evening I hope. Good Hunting Bill Sohne
