tdn.dk shares his journey of collecting the rare Omega Officer watches, specifically created for the Swedish military during WWII. His post celebrates the acquisition of the elusive white dial variant, completing his collection of these historically significant timepieces.

Hi

I collect these Omega Officer which was created exclusively for the Swedish market during World War II. These watches were made for the Swedish military, while another Swedish Omega version SUVERÄN could be bought by the people.

I have followed the second-hand market in Sweden a few years and bought different dial variants of Omega Officer. Until yesterday I only lacked the white variant and it is now arrived and even in the early version that has ref. 2165 which came in 1940 with the caliber 26.5 T2, where the other variants called ref. 2299 with caliber 26.5 T3 and came in 1942.

The watch has a serial number around 8.4 million. from around 1940/41 ie. over 70 years old. The dial has patina, but the movement is in surprisingly good condition and the back still has  the lead gasket intact, as was used back then.

Best Thomas

Is great. I love the movement simplicity and the cool design of the dial and hands. Never had one in my hands. Congratulations, Nilo

I dont think so :-) These Officer is actually quite inexpensive, but hard to find. The Suverän have gone quite up in price and often cost the double of an Officer. And since i also collect Omega stopwatces and pocket watches i have to take it easy :-) Best Thomas
