KMII's original post sparks a vital discussion about rewarding innovation in watchmaking. He champions the non-limited Omega Railmaster, highlighting its unique appeal beyond anniversary editions. His insights challenge collectors to support brands that venture beyond historical reissues, even when commercial success is uncertain.

Commercially the decision to go for this rather than the anniversary edition has probably been a disaster. At the same time I find it a bit problematic to complain that brands only rehash the past and then only buy those pieces and not reward the better behavior of doing something new.

What I enjoy is how the watch wears, the relative stealthiness, the vertically brushed dial, size, lack of date. Not a huge fan of fauxtina generally but here it just about works for me.

I am sure it could work as an only watch but that’s not on the cards πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

I just wish they would offer mint green lume like on the older model with a slightly slimmer case.

Agree with you on fauxtina, but I really like the Railmaster. Omega did a good job here.

Unfortunately the Denim came out after I got this and didn’t quite manage to justify both πŸ˜‰πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Glad you like the strap! Big fan of the original cashmere, too πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

We often lament that brands just copy the past with no novelty but when they do one needs to occasionally reward them for it πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ»
