...I would really like it. Dial, hands, case: all great. But 49 mm?? Questions: what is caliber 2211, and is it automatic or manual? And wasn't there an LE of this watch released earlier, with an enamel dial and cool blue hands with little omega letters at the tips? Is this is production version of that watch? thanks for the news update. Tom
This watch is lovely designed, but way too big IMO. I wear the 38,5 mm AT with a similar dial layout, but this one seems to be grown out of size (too much growth hormone ?) Just my 2 cts, anaesdoc
I am not the very smallest of men - some 188 cm tall, 100 kg light and with an 8 inch wrist. Naturally it is just my personal opinion but the sizes of some watches are already on the funny side. A charming lady said me a short time ago when I was wearing my RG Blancpain Fifty Fathoms: "You have a very nice looking watch. But as you are not a small man, why do you try to compensate your size with a huge watch?". That is not my comment - just something I heard. But still, I believe that these over
. . . the layout of the movement, which is based on the Unitas 6498. The location of the small seconds hand requires a dial that size for symmetrical placement between the center of the dial and the periphery. Most watches based on the 6498 have the small seconds hand shifted towards the periphery of the dial; Omega created a symmetrical dial design at the expense of expanse, so to speak ;-) . . .
I appreciate your reply when this specific watch is concerned. However, my comment was more like a general comment. I have several watches which are in the 45 mm class and I must say that those are a bit big for me. So I am just waiting that the fashion returns towards watches which are closer to the size to be worn under a long-sleeved shirt or a jacket. I think that the same will happen with the watches that always happens with the stock market. What goes up, drops down and vice versa. Natural
..that makes sense Art. It only they could stick the whole thing into a "Proportionizer" and scale it down 20%.... Do you know if cal 2211 shares handwinding and an 18000 bph rate with the original Unitas? thanks, Tom
