KC74 initiates a discussion on the Omega Speedmaster Triple Date Chronograph, a model often overshadowed by the Moonwatch. His post highlights the watch's impressive accuracy and robust construction, prompting fellow collectors to share their experiences and insights into this Valjoux 7751-powered Speedmaster variant.
This watch was purchased back in January 2005 as a reward to myself prior to buying the 3573.50. Considering this watch housed the Val. 7751, i must say, its accuracy is as good as my Chronometre Colt or even the 3573.50. I have never opened the caseback to view how the Val. 7751 looks like or even if it had been modified by Omega, looking at Val. 7751 actually manufactured by ETA and considering it is owned by the Swatch Group. Can we even consider this calibre / movement as a manufacture by Omega. I like the construction of this watch as it feels very comfortable, solid built, snap-on case back, even the Seamaster / Seahorse engraving is smaller compared to their other models. Accuracy of this watch is commendable. There are other spin-offs too with Schumacher endorsement on the Racing models and to commemorate his F1 wins, i forgot how many variations are there. So, if any of you Speedmaster owners other than the Moonwatch have this particular range of Speedies, lets share them and we can together see what variations there are. Cheers.
Keith.

the trouble with it was the silver dial, silver bezel, steel bracelet and case etc made it all a bit bright for my liking. the watch itself is an excellent timepiece and there are several variations. a good all purpose watch. best graham
A welcome difference from the historical speedie. Is there a gmt function on 9 o'clock? Best Tyler
Bought new in '94 when they were first released, never had a bit of trouble with it and like the OP said, it's deadly accurate. Mine is actually a cal.1150, which preceded the cal.1151 for a very short time, the only difference as far as I am aware is that the cal.1150 has a gilt plated movement, which was changed to rhodium plated in the 1151 series...
The black version is the best looking
...Valjoux 7751 module, it will cost them more to be able to modify it to become a GMT function at the 9'oclock subdial. which i presume by adding another disc to the central disc in order to make it a GMT indicator. it is a AM / PM indicator at the 9 0'clock subdial. useful for adjusting date and day knowing its not within the 8pm - 3am range.
...you, such simple logical design flaw if one may call it... i am surprised Omega people did not notice LOL... I had once had a Tag silver dial and i just sold it after 6 months, it was a gift..
