Miranda's visit to the Panerai boutique on Bond Street offers a firsthand look at several captivating pieces, highlighting the brand's exemplary hospitality. Her post focuses on models that particularly caught her eye, including the Mare Nostrum and a carbon-cased watch with impressive finishing. This article synthesizes Miranda's observations with community reactions, particularly regarding the popular 42mm rose gold 1940 California dial.

I think the 42mm rose gold 1940 California looks great on your wrist even though I do agree that the steel model would be an attractive proposition. I am not a Panerai fan but I too would be seduced by a steel 42mm 1940 California. Something about that California dial.
I've never been in a Panerai boutique, where the staff was less than exemplary, but I know what you mean. Being a purist is an aberration and as such, we should be ignored..systematically LOL I find the 42mm Red Gold Cali, rather nice. The dial has been preserved in it's...arrogant simplicity...which is rather important. I'm sure they'll make a SS one, eventually. Thanks for your report
The california dial in 42mm, looks super on your wrist. I recently purchased the PAM 682 submersible, also a 42mm, and am loving it. The gold version 684 (I believe) was also a stunner.
I wish I'd bought it ten years ago, "when it was so overpriced" chuckle... I love that watch. Thanks.
Didn’t you take a Mare Nostrum wrist shot? The Cali looks great on you by the way! Happy Sunday! René
Mare Nostrum looks very good, too. Also 42mm, right?
