Lankysudanese’s experience with a damaged Panerai Radiomir ceramic bezel and subsequent service inquiry at Officine Panerai HQ sparks a vital discussion on watch care, authorized dealer competence, and brand accountability. This thread offers crucial insights for collectors navigating repairs and maintenance for their luxury timepieces, particularly those with delicate materials like ceramic.

but this time the watch snapped off my wrist and fell on marble flooring. The bezel cracked and flew off. Fortunately, the case didn’t crack too
isn’t it their fault, so shouldn’t they be the ones who pay for the service? If they should have screwed the strap correctly, the watch would not fall…
Minor issue: the boutique shuttered the following day. Phone number is disconnected. How’s that for salt on the wound?
A lot of Panerai boutiques have very inadequately trained staff. Also, double check if your model is supposed to come with four black screws. And I also warn friends that authorized dealers will scratch watches, chew up screw heads when they change the straps. Most ADs don't have a watchmaker on site and they don't train their sales staff how to use these tools without scratching the watch. And the people who work at these stores don't care. I've seen Patek Philippe stores scratch the inner lugs
Horror stories for sure. If the repair costs more than what I paid for the watch, I’ll be hard pressed to not consider it a sunk cost
Made for military use. This is BS. I would raise hell.
