Watches4ever introduces the Panerai PAM 498 'FU' Second Edition, a limited release for the Greater China market, building on the success of the original PAM 366. This article highlights the key differences and collector appeal of this new model, featuring a 1950 case and the P.9000 in-house movement.

The PAM366 represents Panerai's Luminor Marina series in a 44mm polished steel configuration. This reference delivers the core Luminor Marina design language in a steel case construction, positioning it within the brand's contemporary offerings.
The 44mm polished steel case houses the Calibre OP II movement and features a 3.5mm sapphire crystal. The polished steel bezel complements the case material, creating a cohesive steel presentation. Water resistance extends to 300 meters, supporting the watch's functionality specifications.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking a steel Luminor Marina in the substantial 44mm case size. The PAM366 offers the Luminor Marina design in polished steel, distinguishing it from other material variations within the series. The Calibre OP II movement and 300-meter water resistance provide the mechanical foundation for daily wear applications.
The 1950 case and fonts looks much better then the first edition. Congrats on the pair. Best, Horo
congrats ! I think the 498 is better because I do prefer an inhouse above an ETA. Yes Nicolas, we know .... Val Fleurier :-) But this is at least exclusive for Panerai and can't be found in 50 million other watches :-) :-) :-)
Not my cup of tea, but it would be a pleasure to own a pair of FU watch.
they would be greatly envied during the chinese new year period. Any lucky serial number (number 8 in it) to go with? cheers PAt
FU watch with 8 add more significance... For sure my friend... BR, Ian
