Hello dear friends!

Yesterday Thursday 20th was a full day centered around Panerai brand for me.

In the morning I visited the Bal Harbour, Miami Beach Boutique to meet my good friend Esteban to take delivery of my Pam 05218 which I had ordered early this year as soon as I learned about it through the net.

The wait was long but well worth it as I find this model so lovely and attractive. Our dear Nicolas has written a couple of very informative and interesting posts devoted to this model and I suggest it’s reading.

Then during the evening we were invited to the opening of “The Depths of Time” exhibition at the main Panerai Boutique of Miami Design Center.

With an introduction lecture about the past history of Panerai we were invited to view some very interesting pieces (including both original WW2 and modern made watches) which added to the interest for collectors and fans of the Brand.  I wish to thank so much to all staff of both Miami based Boutiques for the invitation to the event!

I’m sharing here some shots of my new watch as well as a few more pictures taken during the event.

Best cordial regards
Abel

About the Panerai Marina Militare Ref. PAM5218

The Panerai Marina Militare PAM5218 is a notable early model from the brand's modern era, distinguished by its robust case design and historical dial configuration. This reference is part of a series that re-established Panerai's presence in the collector market, drawing inspiration from its historical instruments. It represents a significant point in the brand's transition from a specialized supplier to a global luxury watch manufacturer.

This particular reference features a substantial case crafted from stainless steel, measuring 44mm in diameter. It is equipped with a manual-wind movement, providing a power reserve of 56 hours. The watch typically utilizes a sapphire crystal, contributing to its durability and legibility. The design emphasizes functionality and a clear, uncluttered dial layout.

For collectors, the PAM5218 holds relevance as one of the foundational pieces from Panerai's Vendôme period. Its limited production numbers and faithful adherence to historical design cues make it a sought-after reference. It appeals to those interested in the brand's heritage and the early iterations of its contemporary production.
