Chronometer (aka yacomino) shares his excitement over acquiring his first Panerai, the PAM 995. This post offers a valuable look into the initial impressions and decision-making process of a collector entering the world of Panerai, highlighting the allure of vintage-inspired design and the immediate connection one can feel with a new timepiece. His experience underscores the unique appeal of certain references that capture a collector's imagination.

I never had a PAM before but boy am I glad I was able to get this one.  It was love at first sight when I saw in the flesh following the recommendations of several fellow purist here.  This specific reference embodies the vintage feel I was looking for (almost even more so without the crown guard which was at first a concern for me not having it) along with simplicity.  Also got two additional strap (the fabric one came with it as a second strap)...Thanks for looking!

My only issue so far...not knowing if I will be able to own only one PAM reference !  Thanks for looking

Beautiful shot of a wonderful watch, there is so much to love: the case, all the numbers on the dial, a running second, the domed sapphire, the big crown, enjoy it to the max!

An excellent decision for your first PAM. I hope for you that you will be able to at least keep this virus in check and not too many Panerais will follow soon. Have a nice honeymoon Thomas

Any reasons why it has not made it to your collection yet? Given there are no boutique in Canada I was surprised to see one at my Ad so in my case I impulsively decided to get it by fear of waiting and not being able to find one...cheers
