Christianch introduces the Panerai PAM649 Luminor Black Seal Left Handed 8 Days, a distinctive 'destro' model available exclusively as part of the PAM 786 set. His detailed review and wrist shots offer an intimate look at this unique timepiece, highlighting its design elements and the comfort of wearing a left-handed watch on the traditional wrist. Christianch's enthusiasm for the watch's aesthetic and in-house movement sparks a discussion on modern Panerai offerings versus vintage appeal.

Dear All,
Here are some photos of the PAM649 Luminor Black Seal Left Handed 8 Days Black Seal Destro that is part of the PAM 786 set (so it is not sold individually).

This is a "destro"  (right hand) watch but I did wear it today on the left  and it still feels pretty comfortable !

And yes it does fit under the shirt cuff wink

Dial and the faux patina of the numerals are stunning !

Note the pre-vendome typeface for "panerai"  and luminor black seal

A very generous buckle but pretty comfortable

The DLC is applied very well and evenly but -- depending on the light and dust -- it might appear a bit different...this said it is really a nice charchoal colour very well applied. I hope it will stay like this for a long time
 wink

The back is not open but it still looks very consistent with the pre-vendome models. 300 Meters water resistant (way more than the new apple watch!)

Looking stunning even with a formal attire

In my opinion this watch is a gorgeous complement to the set. As a destro / right hand watch it is pretty special. This is my first DLC black watch and it very cool and different!
Both watches are very distinct so it is a perfect "collection in a box" where you can change depending on the mood/day.
The P5000 - A eight day manual movement entirely developed by Panerai -- offers a very practical feature and I am very happy that Panerai now uses a lot of their in-house movements.

Last but not least...a lume photo !

Thanks again for watching. What do you think about this watch ?

About the Panerai Mare Nostrum Steel Ref. PAM300

The PAM300 represents Panerai's Mare Nostrum series in a steel case configuration. This reference delivers the Mare Nostrum design in brushed steel construction with a substantial 52mm case diameter.

The watch features a brushed steel case measuring 52mm across, paired with a matching brushed steel bezel. Protection comes from 1.6mm sapphire crystal, while water resistance extends to 30 meters. The movement is the Calibre OP XXV, housed within the steel case construction.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking a large-format steel sports watch from Panerai's Mare Nostrum collection. The 52mm case size positions it for those who prefer substantial wrist presence, while the brushed steel finishing provides a utilitarian aesthetic. I like it. A Black Seal Destro. That is original. The proto ( pre vendome ) was " normal ".

But it is a nice looking watch. I like it! Best, Nicolas

I appreciate the..effort...

from Panerai but it's just not mu "cup of tea". The faux trizio alone, is enough to put me off for life. But, as I already wrote, if YOU like it, I'm exceedingly happy for you

I understand Sergio...well take it from the point of view of someone that doesn't buy...

vintage and/or used watches...then this is a great watch
