Thanks to Panerai Boutique, I took delivery of one of the latest 2012 Radiomir Pam 424 Cali dial with date. Never owned one before, this 47mm Radiomir is impressive, big, bold & beautiful. I personally prefer to have the date, and it does not spoil the overall dial layout. The small Panerai Logo is what this watch is all about - simple & elegant. Took a while to get used to wearing a Radiomir, and a large one, my other Radiomir is Pam 346 8 days power reserve just 45mm. It sits comfortably on my wrist and telling time is a breeze... The glass back shows off the P3000 movement and I like the model number Pam 424 inscribed on the case, just like Pam 372.

About the Panerai Radiomir 8 Days Ref. PAM346

The Panerai Radiomir 8 Days PAM346 represents a significant milestone in Panerai s modern collection, embodying the brand s commitment to preserving its military diving heritage while advancing horological innovation. Introduced as part of the contemporary Radiomir family, this reference pays homage to the original 1940s Radiomir prototypes supplied to the Italian Navy s elite frogmen commandos. The PAM346 maintains the iconic cushion-shaped case profile and wire lugs that defined the historical Radiomir, while incorporating modern manufacturing techniques and materials that ensure reliability for today s collectors and enthusiasts.

At the heart of the PAM346 beats the hand-wound Calibre P.3000, a manufacture movement that delivers an impressive 8-day power reserve through its three mainspring barrels. This robust caliber operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and features 21 jewels, representing Panerai s mastery of extended power reserve complications. The movement s architecture allows for exceptional timekeeping stability throughout its extended running period, while the hand-winding mechanism connects the wearer to traditional horological practices. The 45mm polished steel case houses a stark black dial with luminous Arabic numerals and indices, protected by a 1.9mm sapphire crystal and offering 100 meters of water resistance.

The PAM346 occupies a distinctive position within the collecting community as an accessible entry point into Panerai s manufacture movement offerings, while maintaining the essential design DNA that defines the Radiomir lineage. Its combination of historical authenticity, modern reliability, and extended power reserve makes it particularly appealing to collectors seeking both horological substance and iconic Italian military design heritage. The reference exemplifies Panerai s successful balance between respecting its military past and advancing contemporary watchmaking, establishing it as a cornerstone piece for serious Panerai collectors and those drawn to the brand s unique aesthetic and historical narrative.
