As for the prettiest, it is a matter of taste, for sure. I have a certain weakness for the 3940, if we are speaking of perpetual calendars only, excluding perpetual calendar with another complication. The RO Perpetual skeleton and the Vacheron Patrimony skeleton are two great options, also...
I started liking the new jlc polaris pc recently, but the price jump made it impossible for my budget.
The chrono is a plus
I haven't seen it in real though. I like clean dials, and want them to have high legibility. So the Moser wins with second place to GO and third to AL&S. When the date is on a hard to read subdial (pointer), in my opinion the point of the perpetual calendar is missed. Apart from the time it's the date that is the practical ly important information on the watch. Which of the watches that has the superior movement is beyond me.
which is what brought FP Journe to mind. But I completely overlooked the skeleton models which are awesome game changers! Thanks for your excellent points.
as my eyes got older (and OLDER) I couldn't see anyting but the hour and minute hands, so I parted with them. I like the Breguet because it looks "complicated". I can imagine one's preference is based on taste/looks and then brand and then inner workings. They are all very beautiful, though.
