Quattro's insightful post delves into the recent redesign of the Piaget Black Tie, now officially dubbed "the Andy Warhol watch." By presenting a comprehensive visual comparison of the new 45mm model with its previous iterations, quattro provides an invaluable resource for collectors to analyze the aesthetic evolution, particularly the shift from needle to dauphine hands and stepped to clous de Paris bezels. This detailed examination allows the WatchProSite community to critically assess the design changes and their impact on the watch's iconic 1972 fashion vibe.

Now officially named “the Andy Warhol watch”, the 45mm Black Tie comes with dauphine hands (instead of needles) and a clous de Paris bezel (instead of stepped).

The crazy 1972 fashion vibe is still here, but I think I personally preferred the stepped bezel and needle hands.

I’ve added, for comparison, photos of the previous variants since the reintroduction of the model in 2014.

Best.

Easily....

The second best blue meteorite dial I have seen ☺️. I have a slight bias for mine, not just because I have it, but because I do feel it's a bit more subtle in its color and overall presentation....

Ah, yes: it’s a great dial and great piece you have here!

Congratulations!

🙏

The dial reflects even in bad/low light conditions, I snapped a couple of deliberately 'low quality' pictures inside my car at night to showcase this fact!....

Definitely eye-catching!

Need to see the difference between the stepped bezel and the new one in person i guess

I must admit i like the hobnail motif.

Sure, the hands on experience would be needed.
