On the 14th November 2012, Piaget held an intimist dinner at The Fullerton Bay hotel’s latest venue – the floating pod. Built on water in the harbour of The Fullerton Bay hotel, the floating pod reminiscences of olden days trading boats docked in a modern day setting, which was the perfect venue for Piaget’s newest addition to its Black Tie collection – the Gouverneur.

Guests were being ushered to the floating pod via a bridge, ready to discover what Piaget has to offer that evening. Entering the floating pod, guests were greeted with captivating table settings, cosy ambient accompanied with unparalleled view of the Marina Bay. Against the stunning backdrop, Mr Eduardo Tartalo, General Manager of Piaget South-East Asia began the evening with a short welcome speech, and invited the guests to enjoy the delectable 5-course white truffle dinner specially customized for the evening by Clifford’s Executive Chef Andrea Sacchi.

Serenaded by the soothing vocal of singer, the evening settled into its rhythm and Piaget was honoured to have Dr Melvyn-Teillol Foo, CEO of PuristSPro and a friend of Piaget present that evening. Dr Teillol-Foo gave a very informative and entertaining presentation on Piaget’s expertise in the world of watch making and the Gouverneur line, which the guests appreciated and enjoyed tremendously.

Black Tie is first and foremost about elegant cases with a unique and distinctive design with each model featuring a remarkable level of decoration applied to the case, the movement and the dial. The Gouverneur line features a cleverly structured aesthetic with round and oval shapes intelligently arranged to achieve a unique sense of visual equilibrium while boosting two new ultra-thin calibres. The Gouverneur Automatic Calendar watch beats to the rhythm of Manufacture Piaget Calibre 800P; the Gouverneur Chronograph is equipped with the new 882P movement; while the Gouverneur Tourbillon model houses the new 642P movement.

Apart from the aesthetically appealing watch case and Manufacture Piaget movement, this Gouverneur line has been given an added touch of refinement through the oscillating weights stamped with the Piaget crest and available in two shades in order to guarantee perfect aesthetic harmony.

The white gold models come with a black oscillating weight reflecting the black lining of the strap; while the pink gold models reveal a gold-toned oscillating weight perfectly matching the colour of the case.

As the dessert was served, guests had a private try-on session with the help of the Piaget personnel, giving them a unique and personal experience with the exquisite timepieces. An intimate evening with fine wine, fine food and exceptional timepieces was the perfect catalyst for the guests to connect with Piaget on a deeper level.
