MTF provides an exclusive first look at the grand reopening of the Piaget Singapore boutique in Ngee Ann City. The post captures the traditional lion dance ceremony, a significant cultural event believed to bring good fortune and prosperity to the new location. Readers gain insight into the cultural integration of luxury retail openings in Asia.
Dear Forumners,
PIAGET Singapore relocated and opened a new boutique in Ngee Ann City mall on 18 July 2013.
Here is a sneak preview before the official press coverage.

The lions doing their customary inspection patrol to drive away evil influences.

The lions take their mission seriously and no corner is left uninspected

The lions are the first to be invited into the boutique to check it out!

When all is well, the lions dance and evoke mystical good fortune as well as peeling lucky oranges (the colour of gold) and arranging the segments to form the Chinese characters for prosperity.
Green leafy vegetables signify abundance and are also arranged on the floor at the entrance......all without hands!

The coordinator is setting out the raw vegetables and fruit on a platter for the lions to "manipulate".

There is a lot of posturing and.....well.....lion dancing!

Writing the lucky words in fruit and vegetable segments

Respect to Piaget host

Spewing lucky sweets, gold coins and streamers in a BANG of firecrackers

Lions exit.........right. Final wave good bye.

Gold coins and sweets for luck on the floor and we all enter the boutique.........

More soon from the official Piaget press photographer.............
What are the shop opening ceremonies like in YOUR city?
We would love to know.
Regards,
MTF
Because it was just a reopening of the Boutique after several months of renovation works. Fx
Piaget Singapore had an old small boutique in the same building on Orchard Road. They relocated to a mainstream traffic floor and essentially re-opened a new boutique that is twice the size and quality. Now, I feel luxurious in the boutique that has been designed by a Parisian team. This is the first Piaget boutique in Asia with the new design motifs. Even the lighting gives the ambience of haute horlogerie and joaillerie. :-) The champagne helped too.............................. Regards, MTF
