KMII shares the exciting unboxing of his latest acquisition, a highly anticipated community watch that many thought was no longer available. His post details the journey of acquiring this 'forum favourite' and expresses gratitude to fellow Purists who facilitated the process. The narrative captures the thrill of discovery and the personal connection to a timepiece that resonates deeply within the community.

I guess Amanico's curiosity has been repeatedly piqued and now it is finally here - the latest arrival smile

Two Purists have been very hepful here (i.e. in the acquisition process) and made it all possible, so first of all heartfelt thanks to Anthony and Melvyn!

Most of my acquisitions - even though mostly informed by the forums here - tended to stray away from what could be considered 'mainstream' (for lack of a better expression). The latest one, though, could certainly be said to be more of a forum favourite smile

So with only some further ado, here goes!

The packaging reveals little at this point - but then one needs to make it exciting for Amanico wink

And there is a package within the package wink

And another one biggrin

At this point pretty much all the Purists will know where this is going smile

While I am far from being a doctor in the medical sense (job-wise I took after my father, not my mother), I did get my PhD (so I would be Dr. in the German sense) at the University of St.Gallen, making the combination very fitting biggrin Just do not ask me to diagnose your health issues or prescribe for them (or put differently, your mileage may vary) wink

I guess I was always certain that the ship has sailed on this particular community watch some six years ago. Then a specimen appeared on Chrono, activating the salivation response immediately. Just to be absolutely sure and not to blame myself subsequently, I made a small PM enquiry and was dumbfounded to find out that purchasing a new one straight out of the box was still possible. Lucky me!

So after many emails and great support from both Melvyn and Anthony, the whole process got into gear and I got the notice from the customs office today. That turned out to be really plain sailing, too - sorted in five minutes, and off I went as the new owner of a very captivating box!

As you can see, all the equipment is accounted for, the instruction manuals, warranty and spare strap provided separately.

I guess this can be called just in time (174). Speaking of which, was there significance to the number 178?

And here is the first trial on my wrist - admittedly the rest of the outfit was not the perfect fit for the ABR but then I did not know it would arrive today. It fits very well, even though it is or wears significantly larger than I imagined. Comfortable, though. It will take me a while to get used to the silicone strap, since I have not really worn anything such for a loooong time but I also guess it will make a good companion in summer.

So here I am - probably one of the last Purists to have the opportunity to purchase this community watch and at the moment one of the very, very happy ones as a result smile While I will not manage to take it travelling for this week's WS, I hope it will accompany me for many years to come, and on many future journeys!

Wear it anytime, anywhere, in any health (preferably good, but infectious is ok too)

Thank you Cazalea!

I guess if every forum member who has one would respond likewise, it would make for one of the longer threads here - definitely by far the longest one of mine Will try to strive for good, rather than infectious health - and now with the watch to kill germs with, I am confident of success And some really impressive pics - seems a truly versatile piece!

Actually, Mike T has performed an operation . . .

. . . with a PPro ABR strapped to his wrist, so it's not just an academic exercise in hygiene protocol - it really works!

That I fully believe

My comment was more geared towards my medical skills than the capabilities of the watch. Not that kind of doctor Do work with sick companies though
