to all people that ask my opinion on case and reference numbers between the lugs : I will not check anymore " sloped " pictures ( such as this one that btw shows a genuine number ) but only full front big ones . it's not only a problem of big time spent trying to improve them but with sloped pics it

and btw also full plain pics of back ( inside and outside ) and movement too !!
....we should pass this request whenever we see it.
Marcello, Is it our job to "validate" numbers? If the query is genuine, it can be done at the sales room, auction house, trusted dealer. If it is from an unauthorised source, our advice is "Caveat Emptor" as we buy the "seller" and not the serial number. Regards, MTF
It does se hard to fake the numbers but with all the technology today it seems possible. So i try to look beyond the numbers at the case behind the numbers to see if there is anything that could indicate it had been tampered with. I did see such a case once so from that example i have a small visual reference in mind. Thanks Bill
if you receive like me everyday a flood of messages about watches to check .. well you must try to make this work easier and faster .
everybody ( even the most thrusted and correct dealer /expert ) can well do a mistake ( I have seen many times this problem in the years ) so it's much better to check things twice ( at least ..... LOL LOL ) Rolex world is in fact very complicated : for every model you can find many batches with case and reference numbers that have different fonts ....
