But what’s so special about these Leica’s? I presume top notch perfect images but if I then read that such a Q2 is fixed lens then the images must be really spectacular. Are they really that good or is the name itself good for half the price as they are pretty expensive. Just curious not judging or anything far from that.

I am drawn to Leica, in part, because of the heritage and the compactness of the design. I mainly use mine on travel and for urban/street photography. I own a Q2. I also have a canon dslr. Leica lenses are very good. There are articles out there far more articulate than I about why they are good. If I can find one that I’m thinking of, I’ll post it here. Leica do good in low light, the mirror less configuration makes them quiet and relatively compact. Are they expensive, yes. Those crazy close photos of A.Lange movements, the Q2alone might not be the right camera. I put my Q2 up to a microscope reticle I have and got this But that’s not quite the same.
