ArmisT's unexpected acquisition of a Rolex Datejust 41 with a mint green dial and Jubilee bracelet offers a fascinating look into the nuances of luxury watch collecting and spousal surprises. His post not only showcases a highly sought-after configuration but also sparks a broader discussion among collectors about the Datejust's enduring appeal and its place within the Rolex catalog. This article delves into ArmisT's personal journey and the community's insights on this distinctive timepiece.

My wife surprised me with this early b-day gift the other day. She knew that I wanted it since it was announced, and she knew that I’d recently sold my rhodium dial DJ41 to free up the cash for it, AND she knew I’d been periodically asking the AD “is anything here yet” without any success.  So I definitely didn’t expect to be surprised with this, especially because I don’t really celebrate my bday. But I also give credit to the SA for helping her do this.  I think the reasons are that my wife never asked anything special from the SA in the past, and at the end of the day it is a DateJust, as opposed to being a Daytona or GMTii evensmile  Still, I am thankful because this is a piece I’d enjoy wearing regularly.
I was initially looking for this one on an oyster bracelet to be more sporty, but I’ve seen this combination on others and have liked it as well.

Honestly, for a normal person, this is all the watch one would need.

But this combo of dial, bracelet and bezel really works.

this is a sufficient watch that ticks all the core boxes including its beauty that fills my eyes. It highlighted what I’ve already admitted, which is that I have too many watches than I should.

I've got watches that I haven't even seen for over a year!
