Finally I have received my wonderful and brandnew Day-Date 40!!

It was a big surprise when my favorite AD was able to hand it to me last Monday. A watch I have been waiting and longing for quite a long time.

Yes, my decision process has proved to be a long journey, in particular because it was meant to be a personal gift marking a milestone birthday.

Now I'm very very happy with the result. This was definitely the right decision.

I was overwhelmed that so many watch friends and enthusiasts supported and accompanied my decision making with their very valuable considerations and friendly and sage advices!

My cordial thanks go to:

• Seamaster 2254, syf, janef, Nico, alexxelor and watch-er (although I didn't follow their advices and moved in another direction)

• Chrisparet ("Just try and listen to your heart"), esddmd, Arie (who was a little bit biased: "Green is hot! Are you?!"

), Spangles ("If you can swing it, trade...") and especially Radone (who was a really great help with his personal experiences and "hands-on" impressions: "Such an easy answer for me"

), luca.rev, who all - last but not least - confirmed and reinforced my feelings about choosing the green dial.

I tried to capture the manifold shades and variations of the green dial with my iPhone 6. It proved to be rather difficult and challenging....
