Blomman Mr Blue shares his initial impressions and detailed photographs of the Rolex GMT-Master II with the Cerachrom "Pepsi" bezel, a watch that generated considerable discussion upon its release. His post delves into the aesthetic nuances of the blue and red bezel, questioning if the colors achieve the vibrancy expected from a "Pepsi" GMT. This article captures the community's early reactions to a significant modern Rolex reference.
Friends,
I just like to share some shots of the new White Gold GMT-Master II with “Pepsi” bezel.
This was the first time I saw this one in real.

I was very excited when I heard that Rolex would make a blue/red bezel to the GMT II, but when I found out that it was only for the White gold case I was less excited due to the hefty price tag that comes with the WG case/bracelet…
To me the colors are a bit too “pastel” and not as bright as I would have expected.

The colors become a bit brighter with the flash, but still not really “Pepsi” to my eyes…

What do you think? OK? Good? Great? Could be done better…?
Is there any technical issues to make the colors brighter when it comes to Cerachrom?
Best

Like you, paying so much because it is in white gold is a no go, for me. For this price I could get this bloody Duometre, instead! Best, Nicolas
as it's a very casual looking watch. Just like an explorer and submariner. And the chosen metal has more or less the same colour as steel. So one could ask themselves: where is the differentiation? Saw it live a couple of weeks ago and I must say that it really looked good. It looked kind of special. I'm warming up to it. Mind you: I'm not comparing it to a steel (vintage) pepsi but just as is.
.... like the new seadweller. It would have been much nicer, also works better with the matte colors of the bezel.... AND it would have been a little different from the steel version.
that I share your views :) Colours are bit disappointing One thing that interest me is how hefty is once strapped to wrist? Yours D
If there are technical issues to make blue/red? If we look at the black/blue, the blue is also less bright in colors.... Best Blomman
As for your point - yes, I should try to have a more open mind and look at the watch for what it is without comparing it to the vintage... Problem is that I like the vintage better due to the colors... Best Blomman
