Rolex 114300 Oyster 39mm

About the Rolex Rolex 114300 Ref. 114300

The Rolex Explorer reference 114300, introduced in 2014, represented a significant update to the Explorer line by reintroducing a 39mm case size, a dimension previously seen in earlier Explorer models. This reference is notable for its absence of a date complication and the associated cyclops lens, offering a clean and symmetrical dial layout that appeals to purists. It was offered with a range of dial colors beyond the traditional black, including blue, rhodium, and later, white, expanding its aesthetic versatility within the collection.

This model features a 39mm Oyster case crafted from 904L stainless steel, known for its corrosion resistance. The case thickness is approximately 11mm. It is equipped with Rolex's in-house automatic Caliber 3132, a movement featuring a Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, providing enhanced resistance to shocks and temperature variations. The movement offers a power reserve of approximately 48 hours. A flat sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the watch is water-resistant to 100 meters.

The Explorer 114300 appeals to collectors seeking a robust and understated sports watch without additional complications. Its 39mm size is often considered a versatile dimension, suitable for a variety of wrist sizes. The availability of multiple dial colors, particularly the blue and white options, provided collectors with choices beyond the classic black, making it a distinctive offering within the Explorer family before its discontinuation in 2020.

If I were to go out and buy another Rolex that may very well be the one as I really don't need date, chronograph, moon phase complications.
