Clueless_Collector's post delves into the market reception of new luxury watch releases, drawing parallels between Patek Philippe's latest offering and A. Lange & Söhne's Odysseus. He shares his personal experience with a platinum Rolex Daytona, highlighting its unique aesthetic and the satisfaction it brings. This piece offers a collector's perspective on market trends and personal preferences in high horology.

I think Patek got exactly what they wanted with their new release. The controversy, conversations and presses, good or bad (relatively) is important. I am very sure the steel and Pt version will sell well with long waitlists.

It is very similar to Lange’s Odysseus back in 2019.

I’m still a conservative, clueless collector, going safe bets this week.

As much as I love the steel Daytonas, I’m super happy and feeling special wearing this heavy Pt version. The chestnut bezel and ice blue dial is … can’t explain…nice.

Wearing this yesterday to remember this 17th.

Always a pleasure with the 25th, really interested to see the 30th but most likely unobtainable.

The Lange 1 speaks to me more than the two others, but I like the color scheme of the Daytona.

Hindsight is always 20/20....now I wish I should have get a few more 25th anniversary models while they were still available to me...anyways, moving on.

I think for previous gen 116500LN, the White dial looks better than Black but for this new one, the Black is stunning. Congrats again!

Will say. I like the direction of this new PP line. And I am looking forward to the release of smaller sizes on straps.
