Alexxelor, a dedicated collector, shares his extraordinary journey in assembling a unique collection of New Old Stock (NOS) Rolex and Tudor Professional series watches from 2008-2023. His post highlights the immense challenges of acquiring these 'Latest Series' models in pristine, unworn condition, complete with original stickers and packaging, a feat increasingly difficult in today's market. This article delves into the philosophy behind preserving watches in their original state, sparking a fascinating debate within the WatchProSite community.

It hasn't been easy to get to this point. Every Latest Series Rolex has never been available as a Rolex in regular production. In 2008 when I was looking for my 16710, I had to travel many km before I found what I was looking for, because they were only available only Z series.
Today, in a globalized market, I had to perform a miracle to get to my last two Daytona 2023. Needless to tell you more, we know well what is written in the Rolex circular of 05/06/2018, all protective stickers should be removed from watches. To everyone, except mine!! I can say that I have happily arrived at the end of a long route, each watch has been dreamed of many years before its arrival. This collection is rare, unique and not replicable. You will be able to find these watches in new condition but without the plastic or cardboard travel box with the stickers applied, without stickers bare code or without hang tags, or much more easily in used condition. I preferred to publish a single photo, I have already presented the watches before. Rolex Tudor Professional Collection 2008-2023, New Old Stock. A Modern Art… Champions Are Crowned

About the Rolex 16710 Ref. 16710

The Rolex GMT-Master II reference 16710 represents a significant evolution in the brand's dual time zone offerings, succeeding the reference 16760. It maintained the core functionality of displaying two time zones simultaneously, distinguishing itself through a slimmer case profile compared to its predecessor and the introduction of different bezel insert options. This reference was produced for an extended period, allowing for various dial and bezel configurations that are of interest to collectors. It is a transitional model that bridges earlier five-digit references with modern six-digit iterations.

This reference features a 40 mm stainless steel case, housing the automatic caliber 3185, which provides a power reserve of 48 hours. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal, contributing to its water resistance of 100 meters. The bidirectional rotating bezel, often seen with a Pepsi (red and blue) aluminum insert, allows for tracking a third time zone. The dial is black, and the watch is typically paired with a steel Oyster bracelet.

For collectors, the 16710 is notable for its versatility and the variations available throughout its production run, including different luminova types on the dial and the availability of black, Coke (black and red), and Pepsi bezel inserts. Its position as a robust and functional tool watch, combined with its classic proportions and the reliability of its movement, makes it a frequently sought-after reference. It appeals to those who appreciate the traditional aesthetic of Rolex's GMT-Master II line before the introduction of ceramic bezels and larger cases.

Congratulations on achieving your goal. Yesterday I had an interesting discussion about what is the vision of a collection. Do you mind to share yours with us? I am asking because it is not obvious to me and because I‘m sincerely curious to learn about other’s perspectives. Best, Daniel

Or am I confusing you with someone else? In any event, it makes perfect sense to me for a collection to be brand new in box and unworn. We don’t see many people here do this, aside from various unsealed Patek showing up here and there, but I understand it completely. Can you explain more about the watches you chose to buy. As I’m not understand which watches and why. Thanks for sharing.

The collection with the big C, from my point of view, should make logical sense, otherwise it's just a caos ready to be resold. Conditions is everything, then: unique brand, rarity, particularity, diversity of metals…
