This is the case of the Turn O Graph model which by some reason hasn´t received the attention it deserves from collectors I feel.

Personally I am very fond of this not so popular model, and this reference 6609 from 1956 is a good example of the charm some old examples display.

The silver/pearl color dial plus dauphine hand set, roulette date, arrow indexes and a nice patina on its yellow gold case and bezel make for a most lovely watch.

I found this 60 years plus baby several years ago sporting an original black crocodile leather Rolex straps and gold buckle and it is a joy to wear on the wrist.

Cheers! Abel

About the Rolex Turn-O-Graph Ref. 6609

Rolex Turn-O-Graph Reference 6609

The reference 6609 represents Rolex's Turn-O-Graph series, distinguished by its rotating timing bezel functionality. Part of the Turn O Graph model family, this reference was produced during the 1950s-1960s period and features a black dial configuration within the collection.

The 37mm stainless steel case houses the automatic caliber 1065 movement, providing 42 hours of power reserve. The watch incorporates an acrylic crystal and offers 50-meter water resistance. The rotating timing bezel serves as the primary complication, while the black dial provides the visual foundation. An Oyster bracelet completes the configuration.

Reference 6609 appeals to collectors interested in mid-20th century Rolex tool watches with timing bezel functionality. The 37mm case size and stainless steel construction position this reference within the practical sports watch category of the era. The automatic movement and Oyster bracelet integration reflect the brand's technical approach during this production period.

And I totally agree as it’s something that, amongst other Rolex’s, I have been looking at. The arrow flight markers are superb.
