Gerard (jlux) offers an exclusive first look at the new white gold Rolex Submariner, sharing his initial impressions as one of the first collectors in his country to acquire it. His detailed comparison with the white gold GMT Master II Pepsi and the previous generation 'Smurf' Submariner provides valuable insights into its wearability and aesthetic evolution. This article delves into why this particular reference stands out in a collection.

The new white gold Submariner.

I guess I was the first one in my country to receive the white gold version of the new Submariner.

And I must say that it is a real nice piece of (heavy) metal.
In comparison with my white gold GMT Master II Pepsi, the watch definitely looks and feels bigger but is still very manageable for my 17 cm wrist.

The previous generation white gold model was a bit too much blue for me. This combination of black dial and blue bezel is however very classy looking.

One of the major new features is of course the wider bracelet which integrates now more elegantly with the case.

Thanks for looking,
Gerard

I tried a bit of a different post-processing approach with the pictures which seemed to gave some good results.

Thanks for sharing and congratulations. Never owned a sub, but this is a sub that I really like.

Have not seen it IRL yet so if I get a call, I might think about getting one depending on how it looks and wears on my wrist. I have a Smurf but hardly wear it so no idea about this new one either even though I really like the contrast of the blue bezel with the black dial 😄👍
