KMII shares a personal review of their newest Seiko 5, affectionately noting its weekend-only wear and charming characteristics. This post delves into the practical enjoyment and surprising features of an affordable mechanical watch, highlighting its role as a reliable and unpretentious companion.

Also have to say that the strap is surprisingly comfortable. It has a very wide range of adjustability (with the watch being cheap and cheerful, noone expects owners to hand out more money for a replacement strap than the whole watch cost in the first place) and the material is pleasant enough on the skin that one can easily wear it the whole day. Not tried it out in summer, yet - curious how it will be on hotter days.
And the lume, while not at the intensity to blind passing aircraft at night, is adequate for time reading all night long.

Really a small thing but a helpful detail.
Is it durable and holds up to scratches? Regards, skyeriding
Seems robust enough but have not exposed it to abuse...
my wife has a thing about keeping all papers and thus our garage looks a bit like this at times!! Thankfully the Seiko 5 packaging is discreet and shouldn't cause such a mess. Mine says hi! Cazalea
I have had this watch on my list, the other week my wife got it for me as a gift!!!! It is a very smooth watch. For the $ it is amazing value! Here is a hello from mine.
One thing I found very surprising in Europe (at the friendly booksellers) is the large price discrepancy between colours - with the most expensive one (I believe it was blue) being three times the price of the cheapest. Go figure... And as your second shot shows, the lume is perfectly fine, since noone in their right mind would use the watch for deep sea diving
