I remembered the press release back in December and my initial reaction was, “Meh.” It really didn’t move me and left my radar screen. But, I started see all these photos plastered all over this forum within the last few weeks. Especially when taken in natural light, that blue enamel dial really started to suck me in. I went into panic mode and thought it was too late. I called the NYC and FL boutiques as well as multiple ADs. Most just laughed at me. The NYC Boutique replied their pieces were all accounted for and my only chance was if someone changed their mind.

Well, the NYC Boutique called me on 2 weeks ago and said that had been allotted additional pieces. I almost dropped my phone while pulling out the credit card and left her a deposit. I received the call from her last Saturday that it had arrived. Unfortunately, with my travel schedule this week, I asked her to set up the delivery for today.

Although I have seriously considered Grand Seiko and anxiously await Basel ‘18, I have never really payed that much attention to Seiko – shame on me! I guess this also proves that pictures really don’t do some pieces any justice.
